While parents enjoy a peaceful evening out, children are invited to SHoMA for a cozy night of mindful artmaking and connection. Together we’ll create Ojos de Dios, or “God’s Eyes” — colorful woven ornaments made from yarn and wooden sticks that symbolize patience, awareness, and seeing beauty in all things- perfect for the Holiday season!
In this gentle, sensory-rich environment, kids will work with vibrant yarns, beads, and natural textures to make two pieces: one to keep and one to give. This simple act of crafting and gifting becomes a lesson in focus, generosity, and joy. As they weave, children learn to slow down, trust their hands, and take pride in making something beautiful out of very humble materials.
The evening will include herbal tea, nut-free snacks, soft music, and a calm group viewing of a rated G movie (title TBA) — creating a balance of creativity and relaxation.
At SHoMA, we view art as a way of coming home to oneself. Through creative flow and tactile play, children rediscover what it means to be fully present, to feel capable, and to take joy in the physical act of creation.
What’s included: all materials, peppermint or berry tea, light nut-free snacks, and a rated G movie
