IMPROV (Ages 9–13) — 4-Week Series

Tuesdays • March 3, March 17, March 24, April 7 (no class March 10th or 31st)
4:00–5:15 PM
Solebury House of Movement & Art (SHoMA)
Ages 9–13
Cost: $150 (4-week series)

Improv is where confidence, creativity, and quick thinking get to practice in real time. In this high-energy, super-supportive series, students will learn the building blocks of improvisation through classic theater games, group challenges, and short scenes—no memorization, no scripts, and no pressure to “be funny.” The goal is to listen, respond, collaborate, and play.

Each week, we’ll warm up with ensemble games that build focus and trust, then move into scene work that teaches students how to create characters, relationships, and storylines together. Along the way, they’ll practice speaking clearly, taking creative risks, and staying present—even when things get silly (which they will).

Students will play and learn through popular improv games like Freeze, Hitchhiker, Late for Work, and more—building skills while having fun in a low-pressure, encouraging environment.

What we’ll work on:

  • Ensemble warm-ups + theater games

  • Listening, reacting, and strong “Yes, And” skills

  • Classic improv games (Freeze, Hitchhiker, Late for Work, and more)

  • CROW: Character, Relationship, Objective, and Where (the foundation of every strong scene)

  • Short-form scenes and group storytelling

  • Confidence, cooperation, and stage presence

Perfect for: kids who love performing and kids who are still warming up to it—improv meets you where you are.

All experience levels welcome.
